Description The opportunity Downer Energy & Utilities are delivering a contract for Unitywater valued at $600 million over an initial 5-year term. With a range of projects already underway, Downer is delivering capital works for the water, sewerage and recycled water networks within the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions, as well as works across Unitywater’s 17 sewerage treatment plants in the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay regions. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a long-term, high-value contract that will deliver meaningful work to the communities of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Moreton Bay regions. Please note this is a support function role that sits within the E&U Environment and Sustainability team reporting directly into the Environment and Sustainability Manager whilst taking day-to-day directions from the Unity Water operational team. What you’ll do As an Environment & Sustainability Advisor you will be responsible for environment compliance management across the Unity Water Program. This dynamic role will have a mix of office and site-based exposure and will have a focus on bringing people together to ensure we achieve our objectives whilst contributing to the innovation of the business. We are seeking applications from individuals based in or around Moreton Bay and the ability to travel to our Mango Hill office location plus surrounding sites. This role will support the people who service, maintain and install critical infrastructure to our community. What we’re looking for Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction environmental management. Knowledge of environmental legislation, permits and approvals in QLD. Prior experience and the ability to develop Environmental Management Plans in line with client requirements, project approval and statutory requirements. Strong knowledge in managing project environmental aspects and associated risks. Ability to adapt across complex working environments and engage with multiple stakeholders.
